What is Amirsoy Mountain Resort?
Amirsoy Mountain Resort is Central Asia's most modern and sophisticated all-season mountain resort. Spanning more than 900 hectares on the northern slopes of the Maygashkan mountain in the Chatkal Range, it was constructed according to the highest European resort engineering standards. Featuring state-of-the-art Doppelmayr gondola and chairlift networks, 22 kilometers of illuminated, groomed ski and snowboard slopes with techno-alpine snowmaking, luxury ski-in/ski-out chalets, and fine-dining alpine restaurants, Amirsoy has firmly placed Uzbekistan on the global winter-sports map.
Chronicles & Story
Prior to Amirsoy's opening, winter sports in Uzbekistan were largely centered on older Soviet-era facilities with basic infrastructure. Amirsoy introduced cutting-edge avalanche prevention systems, professional snow groomers, heated equipment rental hubs, and safety ski-patrol teams. In summer, when the snow melts, the resort transforms into an active eco-resort with quad biking, hiking trails, alpine zip lines, and tranquil chalet getaways set against green mountain peaks.
Who Created It and Why?
Constructed to provide Uzbekistan with an eco-conscious, world-class winter sports hub capable of hosting international competitions while providing families and adventure travelers with premium year-round alpine leisure.
Established: Development began in 2017 with master planning executed by leading European mountain resort designers (including POMA and Doppelmayr). The official public opening of Phase 1 took place in late December 2019.
Architecture & Landscape Features
The resort's architecture adopts an elegant Swiss-chalet aesthetic built with natural stone and timber, complemented by expansive glass windows that frame the surrounding peaks. The flagship 8-person gondola lifts whisk visitors effortlessly from the base station (1,630m) up to the summit at 2,290 meters in under 10 minutes.
